Proverb of the Day

Bíonn siúlach scéalach.
The one who travels has news.
Explanation: The one who's out and about hears news, while the one who stays home hears nothing. This was even more true long ago, when news travelled only by foot. But it will probably always be true that the well-travelled are best able to understand even their native place.
