Accessibility

Wherever possible, this site has been built to be accessible to all visitors regardless of ability. The following information gives you the general layout of the site, and tells how to use the accessibility features.

Browser Standards
This site may be viewed in any browser, or any other device for accessing internet sites, but looks best in one that complies with web standards created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The latest version of browsers generally support these standards; older versions of browsers may not.

Site Layout
The main menu of the website, related to our products and services, is on the left-hand side of the screen. Product information can also be accessed via the browsing window towards the bottom of the page. Other more general sections are accessed via a menu at the top of the page. Changing content of interest is displayed on the right hand side of the screen.

You can also navigate the site via the Site Map.

Larger Text
Those who prefer to read larger text may adjust the text size using the text size buttons at the top right, provided that Javascript is enabled in the browser. Those surfing with Javascript disabled may use the browser controls to resize text, as follows:

  • In Internet Explorer 7.0, using menus, select View > Text Size > Larger / Largest.
  • In Firefox 3.0, using menus, select View > Zoom > Zoom In.
  • In Netscape 9.0, using menus, select View > Text Size > Increase.

Note: increasing the size of the text will affect the layout of the page.

Style Sheets
This site has been designed with style sheets. If the design colours or layout present a problem, the style sheets can be turned off, as follows:

  • In Internet Explorer 7.0, using menus, select Tools > Internet Options > General (tab) > Accessibility (button), and tick the appropriate checkboxes to ignore colours, styles and font sizes.
  • In Firefox 3.0, using menus, select View > Page Style > No Style.
  • In Netscape 9.0, using menus, select View > Page Style > No Style.

Language
This site reads the language preferences stored in your browser, and if you have selected Irish, it displays the Irish language version of the site automatically. Otherwise, it asks you to select your choice of language as you enter the site. The site then stores your choice in a cookie on your own machine, so as to maintain your language choice as you browse the site, and so that you will not have to make the choice again each time you visit. You can set your language preferences in your browser as follows:

  • In Internet Explorer 7.0, using menus, select Tools > Internet Options > General (tab) > Languages (button), and then use the Add, Remove, Move Up and Move Down buttons to arrange your language preferences.
  • In Firefox 3.0, using menus, select Tools > Options > Content (tab) > Choose Languages (button), and then use the Add, Remove, Move Up and Move Down buttons to arrange your language preferences.
  • In Netscape 9.0, using menus, select Tools > Options > Advanced > Languages > Choose (button). Select Irish [ga] and then use the Add, Remove, Move Up and Move Down buttons to arrange your language preferences.
